Vitabath Fragrance Collection Review

Lately I've been really into bath & body products!  I stumbled upon Vitabath and was so intrigued with their different scents, 16 to be exact!  I was so excited when I received a package from Jaclyn at Vitabath to try out! I was telling my mom about it and she informed me that she used to use them back in the day! How cool is that?

Vitabath has been around for 50+ years! They recently revitalized their product line with their new Fragrance Collection of sulfate & paraben free body washes.  They offer 4 unique & youthful fragrance profiles: (taken from the fragrance collection fact sheet)

Cupcake Couture
100% guilt free, the play Cupcake Couture profile provides a rich, creamy and sweet flavor palate. Fragrances include:
Dreamy Pink Frosting with Sweet Almond Oil
Luscious Lemon Creme with Lemon Extract
Heavenly Coconut Creme with Coconut Oil
Scrumptious Vanilla Sugar with Shea Butter

Fruit Fanatic
Made with real fruit & flower extracts, Vitabath's Fruit Fanatic profile is a delectable fusion of fresh, flavorful fruits - cherries, apples, oranges and grapefruit - with warm vanilla and lily.  Fragrances include:
Grapefruit Vanilla with Grapefruit Fruit Extract
Green Apple & White Lily with Coneflower Extract
Wild Red Cherry with Cherry Blossom Extract
Pomegranate & Blood Orange with Orange Peel Extract

In Bloom
A mix of exotic and flirty florals, plus subtle hints of sea breezes, helps to create Vitabath's In Bloom profile blend.  Fragrances include:
Beach Blossom with Passion Flower Extract
Nouveau Rose with Evening Primrose Oil
Ivy & Lily with Chamomile Extract
Asian Orchid & Coconut with Angelica Extract

Spa Day
With cool, fresh therapeutic ingredients like cucumber & lavender, Vitabath's Spa Day profile helps both the mind and body relax and de-stress. Fragrances include:
Green Tea & Sage with Aloe Vera
Lavender Chamomile with Lavender Extract
Cucumber & White Tea with Cucumber Extract
Citron Leaves with Lemongrass Extract

Now, for my thoughts/review....
I received a full size (12 oz) bottle of the Spa Day - Citron Leaves with Lemongrass Extract & 3 foil packet samples of
Cupcake Couture - Dreamy Pink Frosting with Sweet Almond Extract
Spa Day - Green Tea & Sage with Aloe Vera
In Bloom - Beach Blossom with Passion Flower Extract

Citron Leaves
The Citron Leaves smells soo calming but yet invigorating at the same time, it reminds me of a lemon-y chamomile tea. When I first received this I just sat with it at my desk sniffing it every few minutes, it smells that good. Ahhhh!

Dreamy Pink Frosting
Dreamy Pink Frosting is literally the most amazing scent EVER! I'm not a fan of cake batter, frosting, baked good etc., scented body products.  They always smell really artificial! This body wash literally smells like I rubbed the most delicious pink buttercream icing on my body. I refuse to throw the foil packet away so I can keep sniffing it. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Green Tea & Sage
Green Tea & Sage had a bit too much of the sage scent to me.  I know that green tea is usually a lighter scent so I was surprised at strong this one smelt.  Out of all 4, this scent lingered the least on my body. My husband loved this one!

Beach Blossom

Beach Blossom was my least favorite. It smells like roses in my opinion which I do not like the scent of. I was expecting this one to have a really clean fresh scent but the rose-y scent was just too overpowering for me. I had a headache afterwards...if you like the scent of flowers & roses than this one is perfect for you!

Now as far as cleansing/staying power goes I'm still on the fence.  I figured with these being sulfate & paraben free they would leave my skin really soft and they didn't.  It just felt like any normal body wash. The one thing that sets these apart for me would be the amazing scents. Citron Leaves lingered the longest, then Dreamy Pink Frosting, then Beach Blossom & last was Green Tea & Sage. In the shower these make the whole bathroom smell amazing but the scent left on your skin is very light and fresh.

I would have to say that I will probably purchase these if I saw a sale for them because I am intrigued with all the different scents!

You can purchase these body washes from Bed Bath & Beyond, ULTA Beauty, Harmon Drugs, Ricky's, Fred Meyer, AAFES, Stage Stores and online at http://www.myvitabath.com/

What scents stick out to YOU the most?

Five-Faves-Friday Vol 4

Happy Friiiiiidaaaaay! I spent most of this week being sick again! Yay! I'm starting to juice and get my weight-loss back on track. I have been looking forward to the weekend since Monday, heehee. I hope you all had a great week <3

EXTRA Sugar-Free Key Lime Pie Gum

Okay, to start off I am NOT a gum lover.  My jaw gets tired quick and I lose interest in the flavor. If my breath needs a lil' summin summin I will pop in an Altoid...I saw these and assumed they would taste like minty key lime pie gum. WRONG! These have been perfect with helping with my sugar cravings.  I am the biggest sugar-monger in the whole world, it has been the hardest thing to give up.  I just pop one of these babies in my mouth and my sugar cravings are gone! Aaaaamaaaazing. Now I just have to hope they don't discontinue these! Have you tried any flavors? Thoughts, comments?

Indie Lee - The Body Scrub
I'm pretty much the biggest Indie Lee product fan ever in all of the land. (I'm a fan of her too because well, she's awesome! Oh, you didn't know? Then go check out her FB page and you'll see why! #TeamIndieLee) If you follow me on Twitter then you know I'm always talking about her products, I'm def NOT paid or compensated in any way, I just feel so strongly about all her products because they do exactly what they say and are alllll natural, baby! I don't find that often where I love everything I've tried. I have had this next to my computer this week to sniff every so often and then it goes in my shower with my to make my skin feel like a baby's bottom...it's THAT soft! I just can't get over how deeelicious the scent is! All in favor of an Indie Lee Coconut Citrus candle, air freshener, fabric softening sheets & perfume, raise your hand....*raises hands as well as my fur children's*

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish - Redhead
I am huge MSF lover/collector, I just love the way they look, feel, taste (jk, just wanted to make sure you were paying attention). This one has been my go-to this week. The right side is the perfect blush and the left side is the perfect highlight for my cheekbones, cupid's bow, brow bones, nose...love it. I really like that I have my 2 products in 1. I have searched for other colors like this but none look the same as this one does on me.  I have literally used this every day since Monday! Do you have a favorite MSF?

Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich
This bad boy right here has been KILLING me this week with my weight-loss!  I think the people at Wendy's already know it's for me when they here through the microphone, "Can I get a Spicy Chicken Sandwich with only lettuce and add american cheese." These are soooo good and soooo addicting! Besides Chinese Food (and chicken strips) this is the other food I could literally eat every single day. I tried these about 4 years ago in LAX and the rest is history. This is also the only thing I will eat at Wendy's! My town doesn't offer much of well, anything so this is one of our few fast-food joints. I hate you Wendy's for making this sandwich so dang good!

NYC - Ultra Moist Lipwear

Most of my lip products are MAC, NARS & MUFE & I don't usually stray. I was in Wal-Mart and saw these for $.99 with a $.50 off coupon! Woot woot! I thought that for $.49 it was worth a shot to try these. These are so fun! They are very moist so the color is more sheer than your traditional lipstick.  I got every color they had and have been having a blast using them all! I have a client next Saturday who is going to a Roaring 20's Dance so the deep plum color is absolutely perfect for her! I love these because of their price! I won't be sad if one melts, breaks or I decide to let one go home with my client. Yay for NYC lippies this week!

I'd love to read your comments! Have a safe and happy weekend! Love you all!

Until next time,

Five-Faves-Friday Vol 3

What a great week this has been! My husband has had the WHOLE week off and we had a really fun Valentine's Day together! We stayed in our jammies, ordered pizza and ate our weight in candy while watching romantic movies. Although, we both seem to have caught an icky bug, we've been sick since Wednesday, hubby more than me, so it has put a bit of a damper on the rest of his vacation. Onto my Five-Faves of the week!

Sudoku Puzzles

I've been really into Sudoku Puzzles for quite some time now but the past few months I seem to have a million other things to do, puzzles are last on my list.  Since I've been home lounging around this week, these have been my BFF again! They make me feel like I'm making my brain smarter with each minute that passes of me doing these!

In Time

I saw a preview for this while watching What's Your Number and it looked awesome. I'm not usually into Sci-Fi/Thriller/Futuristic movies what-so-ever but I went and rented it.  My husband and I watched it and LOVED it! We couldn't stop talking about it. The next night, my brother-in-law's girlfriend was in town so the 4 of us watched it again (it's GOTTA be good if we watched it 2 nights in a row!) Love love love! I highly recommend this movie.  It really makes you think!

Urban Decay Shadow Pencil in Sin
I received the Urban Decay Pencil Stash as a Christmas gift from my brother-in-law & his GF, I love everything UD so this was right up my alley. This week I have gravitated towards Sin for every look I do! I use it on my brow bone as well as the inner corners of my eyes and it really makes my eyes pop! I absolutely love these pencils but Sin is my #1! I think these are limited edition which makes my heart sad :(

Tina Fey's Bossypants
Hi, my name is Marina and I am a book reading addict. "Hi Mariiiiina!"
Yes. Seriously. I absolutely love reading books, actually, I like reading anything...from billboards to magazines to the back of my shampoo bottle.  I had heard really great things about this book so I decided to give it a go.  I usually stick with my chick-lit type of books so this was a bit out of my element.  I am half-way through and I am SO glad I picked this up. I have never laughed so hard from a book before.  I probably look like a looney toon sitting in my room cracking up. It's THAT funny! This is one of those books I think everyone should read. You won't regret it. You'll thank me later :)

Organized Makeup Area
Now, I decided against posting the actual picture of my makeup area because I wanted to avoid hate mail.  I know I have way too much makeup (wait, there's not such thing!) but I really don't like hearing it from other people and I'd just rather save the drama for your mama...not literally...
Hubster took me to Wal-Mart the other night and bought me all kinds of neat little trays and organization type of things in the kitchen area.  He gave me his big dresser to use as my makeup storage.  I was able to line all of the drawers with neat little cubby-type things! Everything has a home now...ahhhh...sigh of relief! I just love the feeling of having everything organized, it just makes me feel so much more in control! How often do you organize your makeup area?

Well my friends, that's it for this weeks Five-Faves-Friday...I hope you enjoyed, I'd love to hear your feedback...have you seen the movie I listed, read the book I talked about or tried the UD pencils?

Have a FABULOUS weekend!
Until next time,

Five-Faves-Friday Vol 2

This will be my second "Five-Faves-Friday" and I'm super excited!  I had a very bad week with Twitter...every time I would log on, it would show that I wasn't following people I know I was, so of course, I would go back and re-follow them.  Twitter took this as spamming or "auto-churning" and suspended my account on Monday...JUST GOT MY ACCOUNT BACK! Whoo hoo!
 Onto Five-Faves-Friday:

The Blemish Lotion by Indie Lee
I am "can't-eat-can't-sleep-reach-for-the-stars-World-Series-kinda-of-stuff" in love with this product. (BTW, don't you just love the It Takes Two quote? Classic movie...moving on) I referred to it in my video review as Magic In A Bottle and it seriously is.  The beginning of this post explains part of my week, well, it just turned out to be one of those weeks where EVERYTHING goes wrong. I spent 14 hours each day stressed this week, we all know stress = pimples.  This stuff has been a God send for my face this week!

Philly Cheese Steaks
So you may be reading and saying to yourself, "Philly Cheese Steaks, what the?!" I will start off by saying I am probably one of the world's pickiest eaters. Seriously.  I usually don't try new foods, I stick to what I like and that's that!  Well there's a restaurant in town called Big D's Downtown Dive, I "liked" their Facebook page and would always see people raving about their cheese steaks, they even have a special Wednesday nights. I was very intrigued and decided to try one. WHOA! nfjgknfjkdgnfdkjgnkjfhgjfkdngdjkgnfk <-----that's how excited I got. I can't believe I have been missing out on these my whole life.  Since then I have been trying them everywhere, one of my favorites is at Subway! I have been obsessed with them all week long!

Real Housewives of Orange County
I am a self-proclaimed reality-tv whore.  When it comes to any of the Real Housewives franchises, fugggetaboutit! I know everything about all of them.  OC was the first I started watching when Real Housewives premiered so naturally I seem to get more excited about them.  Tuesday, February 7th was the Season 7 premiere (one plus to my stressful week) and since I'm DVR obsessed, I let it record and watched it the next morning. Man, I just can't get enough of the OC! I loved seeing Tamra & Gretchen play nice and makeup at the beginning. Totally made my day :)

All of the LOOOOVE in the air!
I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day even though I'm married, it's just not my favorite. What I do love about this month is all of the pinks and reds & chocolates everywhere you go. Pink + chocolate = Happy Marina.  It even feels like love is in the air.  All the stores have such beautiful things to make your Valentine's Day special and it just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I love, well, LOVE!

Zoya Nail Lacquer in Perrie
Zoya is a new brand I discovered and I'm very impressed.  This color is such a fun Spring color (yes, I know we're still in February and I'm getting a bit ahead of myself) and it's a really flattering shade on me.  Once my polish starts chipping I switch colors but I have kept applying this color all week.  I usually don't wear colors for more than 2 days or so.  I think this is going to be so cute on my toes when flip-flop weather arrives!

I hope you all had a wonderful week and have a fun and safe weekend!

Until next time,

Five-Faves-Friday!

I decided I wanted to start doing a Five-Faves-Friday! I will post about the 5 things I'm absolutely loving this week...fabulous way to start the weekend ;) Some weeks it may be all makeup or beauty related items, some weeks it could be the most random things and some weeks it may be all food (I love me some good food). So here it goes, in no particular order :)

1)  3 Musketeers Coconut Bar

I was checking out at Walgreens the other day and they always have that dang little shelf where you check out with different candies that are on sale for like $.50 (I CURSE YOU, CANDY SHELF!) well, that shelf has magical powers to make you look at it no matter how hard you try to avoid it (seriously) so of course this time when I saw that this was coconut I jumped on it! I'm not a fan of 3 Musketeers in general, but coconut makes everything better and boy oh boy is this amazing! It reminds me a lot of the Coconut M&M's just not crunchy.

2) Cafe Escapes Chai Tea Latte K-Cups

Last winter I spent most of my money (and calories, sugar, fat etc.) at the Hastings Hardback Cafe buying Vanilla Chai Tea Latte's...I discovered they sold the powdered mix and checked out the sugar content and FREAKED! The barista told me they also make it in sugar free (sigh of relief) but it just didn't taste the same.  I was at Wal-Mart and I love looking in the K-Cup aisle and seeing what new flavors and brands they have out and I discovered these puppies! I usually never finished my whole drink from Hastings anyway so this is perfect for me.  It's not as thick as usual cafe made ones but I add a tiny bit of sugar-free vanilla powdered creamer for a bit more richness.  The flavor is absolutely amazing, it's perfect on those cold days/nights.  There's something about chai tea that screams, "CHRISTMAS!" to me.  I've also tried it over ice which is great as well!

3) Magic Beyond Words the JK Rowling Story

I am a huuuuuuuuuuuge Harry Potter fanatic so while good ol' hubby and I were strolling through the new releases section of Hastings this screamed my name.  As much as I know and love about Harry Potter I honestly couldn't tell you much about the author JK Rowling.  This movie starts from the very beginning of JK (Joanna) as a little girl and how Harry Potter evolved to present day.  It goes through all the struggles and tragedy she went through.  This movie gave me another level of respect for JK Rowling.  If you are a HP fan, definitely check this out!

4) MAC's Breath of Plum Sheertone Blush

This was a complete impulse buy awhile ago, it's definitely not a color I usually go for but for some reason this week I have been alllll about Breath of Plum!  Since this is a sheertone blush it goes on, well, more sheer so it's very easy to build up color.  I actually used this on 3 different colored girls and it looked amazing on all of them.  This color is a matte deep plum but it honestly is the perfect color.  I find myself using it now constantly.  I don't know why I strayed from it for so long but I am officially in love.

5) Chocolate-Covered Katie, the Healthy Dessert Blog

I was messing around on Pinterest and found this board of these sinful looking desserts, I clicked the pictures to be taken to the link and discovered this blog.  I was honestly in shock seeing all of these guilt-free desserts, I mean literally any dessert you can think of was on here but made over to be healthy/healthier! Sweets are my weakness, I could have dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner!  I've made a few things from her blog and each one is just sooo good! So far my favorite one I have made is the Mounds Bar Baked Oatmeal mmmmmmmmm!!!!! You can follow this blog at www.chocolatecoveredkatie.com

Well, that's all folks! I'd love to hear some of your favorites of the week!

Until next time,

Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner

Earlier this month I finally received a MyGlam bag, there was really only 2 products that piqued my curiosity...this conditioner and the Cover Duo Concealer by Sheer...I wasn't planning on reviewing all of the products, but if you all would like to see one, just let me know! What was included in MyGlam Bag:

  • Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner (can be purchased here)
  • The Balm's Hot Ticket Nail Polish in Sky Blue Right Past You (full size)
  • Freeman Facial Peel-Off Cucumber Mask  (full size)
  • Cover Duo Concealer by Sheer <--love! (full size)
Sweet Almond Cleansing Conditioner
Now for my review...I was really confused about this "cleansing conditioner" because well, the name is a bit confusing! I read the back and the instructions say to rinse, then apply to scalp, add a splash of water and lather for 1-3 minutes.  I think it was the "rinse" part that got me a little confused because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use shampoo first or just rinse my dirty hair with water.  I did a little research online and found out that this takes place of your shampoo. Hm. Interesting. I normally have very oily roots and dry ends so I was nervous about using something called a conditioner on my scalp. I applied it to my scalp and it smelt sooo good! I loved the smell.  There was no lather because this item doesn't contain sodium laurel sulfate and harsh detergents but it does contain antibacterial & astringent properties to ensure the hair is cleaned.  I guess I'm just so used to lathering up that I felt my hair wasn't really clean.  I started rinsing and it was very soft at first, but then after it was completely rinsed out it felt...weird...very heavy and tangled...I thought maybe I didn't get all of it out so I rinsed some more but it just kept feeling heavier and more tangled. After I dried and styled I noticed my hair felt really oily, like a heavy oil.  I can already tell that by the end of the night my hair is going to be a grease-ball.  I'm not impressed.  I don't know if it's because my hair is on the thinner side or what but I definitely won't be using this again. My roots feel very dirty and my ends feel like straw.  I love hair care so I was really hoping this would work for me, especially because I LOVED the scent. This may just be one of those products that isn't for everyone.  Have you tried any Wen by Chaz Dean products?  What do you think of them?

Until next time,
Marina - mCubedMakeup
