Coastal Scents Creative Me #1

I've been seeing quite a few beauty vloggers & bloggers RAVING about this palette as well as Coastal Scents Hot Pots which they compare to MAC shadows. Hmm. Well, I must be the one & only person who thinks the opposite. I ordered mine from Amazon for $20.50 and it came the next day. Now I know that a lot of matte shadows are harder to work with and some do tend to be on the chalkier side but these are like nothing I've ever used before.
The colors look so bright and vivid in the pan! I was like a child on Christmas morning when I opened this up! Sadly, that's where my excitement ended.
I had to swipe my finger across the shadow a minimum of 8-10 times just to get a bit of color to swatch. The colors were so chalky and applied insanely patchy. Here's the first row of colors. You can really see with the yellows how patchy the colors went on.
The second row was just as bad. The third purple I had to swatch over and over again to get color to show up and it's still very faint. The 1st and 4th color in this row are the 2 colors that I can work with somewhat. Some do look bright in these swatches but the massive amount of product I had to pack on to get to that just makes it too much work.
The 3rd row would have to be the worst out of the palette, some of the pinks/purple can be worked with but these were just not going to happen.  I had to repeatedly apply color and when I would swipe the color on my hand it would disappear and fade out.  You can see how faint the colors went on and I really packed these babies on!
I am so disappointed in this product, I really thought from all the reviews that this would soon be my go-to bright colored palette but I honestly can't see myself ever using this.  I had an online cart full of the Hot Pots to purchase but I just don't see that happening any more.

Have any of you beauties tried this palette or any others from Coastal Scents?

Until next time,

Five-Faves-Friday Vol 6

Well, no exciting news to report about this week...didn't really do much except plan our 1 year wedding anniversary trip for next month and we decided on Las Vegas.  We have family there and try to visit Vegas at least 2x a year. It's one of my favorite places to visit because I know it so well AND well, IT'S VEGAS!!!! So during my week of planning these are 5 of my favorite things of the week!

Double Stuff Oreo's

I have always been obsessed with Oreo's since I was a wee one.  Efren & I used to always keep these stocked in our pantry but over the past year and a half we have really been trying to watch what we eat.  We haven't purchased a bag of these babies in over a year!!! I made a huuuge mistake by going to get "just a few things" from the grocery store...on an empty stomach I will add...and left with these.  Now, I probably could of just walked right past the cookies and been fine, but no, not this time. They had an Oreo monument right smack in the middle of Wal-Mart! It's Oreo's 100th birthday, I mean, it would just be mean to the Oreo to NOT buy any.  So we spent this week celebrating Oreo's birthday by stuffing our face with these magical sandwich cookies.

So I am a huge Pinterest addict and I love pinning different foods to make from there.  From that fabulous site I discovered Plain Chicken! Since I'm a picky eater and pretty much only eat chicken this perfect for me! I've probably made at least 30 meals from this site! I absolutely love it! It's not just all chicken, there's other recipes too.  This week I made French Dip Roll-Ups, Bubble Up Enchiladas, & Chicken Pot Pie Casserole....mmmmm! Are you hungry yet?

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Shine in 30 - Shimmering Pink

I've always been a fan of YSL's makeup; the packaging is to die for, it's so classy and elegant & always makes me feel glamourous! When I first got this lipstick, I was so disappointed with it! I was expecting a nice bright pigmented pink with lots of shine.  I probably should of read about the Pur Shine's before...these aren't as pigmented as normal lipsticks but have a gorgeous sheen to them.  This week I have been loving this! It's a very frosty shimmery baby pink that has been perfect for the looks I have been achieving.  I was able to turn my YSL frown upside down :)

Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Dry Styling Oil

I recently did a haul about drug store products on my YT Channel  and in this video I talked about me just starting to get into some drug store items.  I've never really shopped for beauty products at Wal-Mart or Walgreens but everyone has such great things to say about certain products.  During my Walgreens shopping trip I came across the brand Organix, I've never heard of it before but they were all BOGO free! I picked this as well as a Coconut Milk oil thingy (still haven't tried that one).  I have thin hair so I've been loving how this doesn't weigh it down or make it greasy. Oh, and the smell is amazzzzzzzzzzing!

Coastal Scents Liquid Corrector in White

It's that time of year where I'm starting to tan (fake bake) and need to "up" my shade in foundation.  Well, I'm still too light for my next shade up and the one I'm using it too light for me. Solution: use this liquid corrector in the darker color! Tada! Perfect color! I have one of these in my professional kit as well! I love it! It doesn't alter the foundation formula or anything, just lightens it perfectly.

Well, friends, there ya have it! My 6th Five-Faves-Friday post! Wow!

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!

Until next time,
